name: axel series: kingdom hearts age: 19 classification: independent hunter
personality: Axel is generally an independent person and approaches most situations with a laid back attitude. When he sets his mind to something, he’s incredibly determined and will remain that way for as long as necessary. He’s manipulative when he wants to be and is fairly easy to read as far as emotions are concerned.
Much like the predicted redheaded personality, he has a short temper with just about everyone. He is loyal to boot and doesn’t take betrayal lightly, there are very few that he cares about and when someone becomes one of them, he’ll stop at nothing to ensure their well-being.
Axel prefers to live in the moment and do everything (even specific orders) with his own flair. To a stranger, it might seem like he never has plans, or that he’s a bit immature for his age. He prefers sarcasm over serious tones, but won’t hesitate to take control of a situation when the need arises.
character description: At full height, he stands at about six feet, perhaps a few inches over. His body type at first glance looks a bit lanky, but he’s more than your average tall-skinny young adult. Axel maintains a muscular build due to his training as an independent hunter and is constantly pressuring himself to keep it that way. He has fiery red hair that juts out in spikes and bright green eyes, something that turns heads on the street (whether or not that’s a good thing is a bit debatable). Just beneath those eyes he has identical black teardrop tattoos.
biography: The World that Never Was definitely was not a place to raise a family, but that didn’t rule out the fact that families were raised there. Sure, there was never any sunlight, but for some reason humans remained in the place. Axel happened to be one of those humans.
At an early age he was exposed to the differences between vampires, humans, halflings, and hunters. In fact, he grew up with a vampire as a relative – though his own parents were both human. He became a firm believer in the ideal that vampires and humans could coexist in the same environment, not entirely in a peaceful manner because the vampires would have to feed. Just not to the point of death. It wasn’t until a couple of days after his tenth birthday that his belief system began to shift.
One of his best friends at the time had managed to befriend a vampire and after getting into all of their good graces, the vampire had crossed them. Axel’s best friend had been killed by the creature he’d always claimed could be good. And then his parents and younger sister. It was then that he began to train to become a hunter. At first, it was for obvious vengeance reasons but he learned that it wasn’t the way to go about things.
As he grew older, he learned that his cause was to prevent the same accident from occurring again. To protect the humans who couldn’t protect themselves; keeping a barrier between the bad and the good. He understands that not all vampires are murderers, but he’s hesitant to decipher the differences.
It took a total of nine years to build up a reputation as an infamous hunter. Independent, of course. Though even with said reputation, he doesn’t mingle with people who know of him. He’s always been more of a lone ranger and has always done things his own way since the night he lost what mattered most.
